"Isn't it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?"
~ Anne of Green Gables ~
It's the start of a new year, and it's time for a pivot.
Normally, I'd spend days coming up with one newsletter, working on just the right words and just the right pictures. Already, I'm on day two in my blogging/ newsletter plans, and I need to simplify, or I'll never get anything accomplished. If I'm going to do anything, I want to give my all. But then I can't do ALL the things I want if I give my ALL in everything I want to do. I plan to simplify!
So instead I'm creating a system (which I have been trying to do since the very beginning and have yet to land on one - but I'm getting close). Once I can nail down my system, I will put out regular newsletters/blogs.
Goals! This year, my goal would be to send a monthly newsletter (keeping the info short—no more than about 250-300 words!) and to bring you value, whether cool tidbits of learning and insight, or bookish resources, whether free or to help a fellow creator out. And to spend less time on social media. Shocking! I know. (I'll still be there, but maybe to cheer my bookish friends and to direct people to my website and newsletter. Let's see what happens.
What would you like to see in my newsletter-blogs?
Bookish resources? Writer resources? Character updates? Writing updates? All the things I just mentioned? If you've signed up for my newsletter and you're receiving this in your inbox, then hit reply and let me know your thoughts!
Writing Updates
Beyond Ink is changing, growing, and something else. But new things are on the horizon. At first, I thought Beyond Ink was to be a young adult story, then I realized, after its release, it was middle grade. The cover (though beautiful) doesn't quite match the middle-grade vibe. With some deliberation, a change is coming. Stay tuned for some Beyond Ink updates.
Along with the cover update, Inky (do I give Beyond Ink a nickname?) will receive a bonus scene at the end, and a few things might be tweaked in the middle (the story will remain the same)
The Hidden Scroll: Of Ink and Fire is sitting at 77,773 words in length and is off with the editor. Do I still want to add to and tweak this story? You bet your buttons I do. Depending on what kind of edits I'll need to do, I'm hoping to do a call for a small beta team. We'll see what happens.
A new book club on the Fable app!
This book club was made for adults (and young adults) who like Christian middle-grade books, deep themes, and adventure.

Introducing A Writer's Journal Workbook: Coming Feb 3rd, 2026.
Once upon a time, I had made Writer's Journals to help me with my writing. In a way, I sort of still use the principles in my original designs.
It's been a few years since they had an upgrade, both in and out, and I've been wanting to change it. And now I have. I still might uplift my older design for those who like simpler drafting methods. I, personally like to have options, so I made one to work with a mind like mine (a mind that doesn't necessarily like to do things in order and LOVES to write in the margins.
Please consider this for your writer friend or teenager.
In honor of my new writer's workbook coming, I've also made a 'Scene builder at a glance' freebie. It's a one-sheet/ cheat sheet to hopefully spark ideas on how to structure or build your scene. Feel free to use!
Note: By downloading these PDFs, you agree to use them only for your personal use and not to sell or distribute them, or use them for any AI (whether training, tweaking, etc.), either in physical or digital form.
Thank you!
Thank you so much for coming along!
All the blessings.
